Latvia has declared a three-month state of emergency, starting Monday, as the number of infections has reached a record high there. Latvia’s vaccination rate is one of the lowest in the EU.

Tatyana Ruzhentsova, Head of the Clinical Research Department of Russia’s Central Research Institute of Epidemiology, said the current high number of infections shows that Russia is having its fourth wave of COVID-19.
