(VOVWORLD) - Worldometers.info reports that as of Sunday morning, there were more than 27 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide, of whom 883,000 have died.

The US remained the hardest-hit country, followed by Brazil and India.

Many new cases have been recorded in Myanmar and Singapore. South Korea decided to extend operation restriction of restaurants, bakeries, and franchise coffee chains in the greater Seoul area for one more week in the latest move to contain the rapid spread of the new coronavirus.

The first day of school in New York City, the US, was postponed until the 21st this month to give the school more time to prepare, as many local universities saw an increase of COVID-19 cases after the autumn term.
