Reports at the conference highlighted positive results from state capital divestment and SOEs equitisation. 162 SOEs have been businesses equitized since 2016 and more than 9.4 billion USD have been divested. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc reinstated the important role of state companies and groups in the building of socialist oriented market economy in Vietnam: “Reluctant attitude to renovation and changes remains due to individual interests in sectors and industries or corruption. We need to fix this problem to empower the Party and State in fight against corruption.” 

The Prime Minister also asked for better corporate governance in SOEs to improve its self-discipline thus raising competitiveness to facilitate innovation and international integration.
