The Organizing Committee said Monday that the Festival will promote the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son-Kiep Bac complex and that Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, and Bac Giang provinces are working on a dossier to obtain UNESCO recognition for the complex as a world heritage site.
The highlight of the festival will be the commemoration of the 689th death anniversary of Venerable Huyen Quang, the 3rd progenitor of the Truc Lam Zen sect.
Besides traditional rituals, there will be a chung cake contest, a glutinous rice cake day, an earthen firecracker festival, a wrestling competition, and Chinese chess matches.
Hai Duong province will receive delegates from Suwon province in the Republic of Korea and Japan’s Kagoshima, who will explore local culture and tourism.
