The 3-day event, part of the week-long Hue Festival 2022, drew hundreds of artists from Vietnam and several other countries, said Huynh Tien Dat, Deputy Head of the Hue Festival’s organising board.

“The Hue Festival is taking place over several days, with different activities on each day. There will be art performances, folk games, a royal Tuong classical opera performance entitled ‘Echo of the past’, among others. Two  highlights will be the Hue Kite Festival and the Ao Dai Festival,” Dat explained.

Opening the street festival were performances by 8 art troupes including Israel’s Gute Gute Band, Brazil’s Viet Bambas Band, and the Hue Royal Traditional Theatre.

Thanh Phuoc, a resident of Hue, said, “The street festival is fun and exciting. Hopefully from now on, Hue's tourism will prosper again.”
