Chinese expert optimistic about Vietnam-China economic cooperation prospects

(VOVWORLD) - Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong’s official visit to China demonstrates the close relationship and great prospects of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, said Professor Qing Han Ping, Director of the Center for Vietnam Studies under Zhejiang University of Industry.

Mr. Qing Han Ping said economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and China are supplementary and sustainable. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, two-way trade grew in the first 8 months of this year proving the great potential of bilateral trade.

Qing Han Ping said being neighboring countries and with close trade ties, Vietnam and China are enjoying a firm foundation of economic and trade cooperation. The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation are creating new opportunities for the two countries to expand cooperation.

Qing Han Ping expressed his hope that the two countries will strengthen high-level exchanges and policy exchanges to increase mutual political trust to create a brighter future for Vietnam-China relations.
