The Central Highlands has a strategic position in socio-economy, defense, and security. It has a total agricultural land area of over 5 million hectares, accounting for nearly 92% of the natural land, which includes 1.3 million hectares of basalt red soil. The Central Highlands is one of Vietnam’s major agricultural production hubs with abundant output and variety.

Nguyen Tan Cong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nam Yang Services and Trade Cooperative in Gia Lai province, said: “The forum helps us connect with other businesses and access market information of other provinces. We learn about market demand, product’s quality, standards, and the State and government policies on regional and provincial economic development, particularly the Central Highlands.”

The delegates discussed the Central Highlands’ strategy on sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas from 2021-2030, and a vision to 2050.
