Cao Bang gears up for “Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week”

(VOVWORLD) - An event to mark the 520th anniversary of Cao Bang province and “Non Nuoc Cao Bang Culture, Sports and Tourism Week” are both slated for Thursday evening to highlight the history of Cao Bang province and its tourism destinations.

Cao Bang’s attractions include Ban Gioc waterfall, Nguom Ngao cave, Pac Bo cave, and Lenin spring. The Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark was recently recognized as a global geopark by UNESCO.  The Provincial Director of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Sam Viet An says that Cao Bang has made a great effort to protect the environment, conserve nature, and attract more investment in local tourism. He said: “We came up with several plans to develop the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark soon after it was recognized as a global geopark by UNESCO. Tourists visiting Cao Bang increased 30% last year. The province will implement more programs to develop sustainable tourism.”

The tourism week will feature the Ban Gioc Waterfall Festival and another festival featuring Then singing and the Tinh musical instrument of the Tay in Cao Bang. An exhibition featuring Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark will be held.
