(VOVworld) - Huynh Dam, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, has visited Most Venerable Thich Pho Tue, Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Patronage Council, at Vien Minh pagoda in Hanoi’s Phu Xuyen district yesterday. The visit was timed to commemorate the Buddha’s 2,556th birthday. President Dam extended his best wishes for the good health of the Patriarch, Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns, and followers and praised their involvement in patriotic emulation campaigns. He said he believes the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and its followers nationwide and abroad will contribute to the strong national unity for the goal of a strong country with prosperous people and a just, democratic and civilised society.

On this occasion, Dao Xuan Quy, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Kon Tum province congratulated, and presented a gift to, the managing board of the province’s Buddhist Sangha in Trung Khanh Pagoda.
