(VOVworld) – A seminar to discuss international experiences in formulating, developing and managing economic groups was held in Ho Chi Minh city on Tuesday. The delegates agreed that the establishment of economic corporations was essential for the development of enterprises in the market economy, therefore, plans to establish large-scale and highly competitive corporations were needed. They added that the state should fine tune institutions for the establishment and development of these corporations. Doctor Vo Tri Thanh, Deputy head of the Central Institute for Economic Management, said: “State-owned economic corporations are a controversial and long-term topic in Vietnam. We are studying international practical experiences that can be applied to Vietnam. The World Bank is supporting Vietnam in formulating a report under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning and Investment.”
