With migration up 190%, the Baltic states have been pushing other EU members to outline measures to deal with the increase of migration that is threatening the bloc’s security. Since May, Russia, not the US, has been the leading provider of liquefied natural gas to the EU despite an effort to decrease the EU’s dependence on Russia.
These two issues will be discussed at the meeting of Chairpersons of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for European Union Affairs (COSAC) scheduled for the end of October in Budapest. Poland will hold the EU’s rotating presidency through the first half of 2025.
