During an online meeting on Monday with leaders of Bac Giang, which is hardest hit by COVID-19 in Vietnam at present, Mr. Dam said vaccinations must be ensured for workers in local industrial parks while quarantine and locked down areas must be strictly controlled to prevent coronavirus spread.

More than 3,000 medical workers and students have been deployed in Bac Giang and its neighboring province of Bac Ninh. 27,000 more are on standby.

Bac Giang now leads Vietnam’s tally of domestic infections with more than 2,200 cases since May 7, followed by Bac Ninh.
