The announcement was made 2 days after Prime Minister Scott Morrison confirmed measures to allow international students back into the country as soon as possible.

Under the pilot plan, visitors with business passports and international students will be able to enter Australia from next month but only on "pre-approved plans" for "particular institutions".

Prime Minister Scott Morrison noted that the reopening will be done if states and territories in Australia agree to lift coronavirus border restrictions allowing interstate travelers.
