(VOVworld) - After years of negotiations, Australia has given the green light for fresh mangos from Vietnam to be imported, making mangos the second Vietnamese fruit after litchi to be imported into Australia.

The Vietnam Trade Office in Australia said the first shipment of mangos will arrive in Australia later this month, and soon increase to about 18 tons per day. The Vietnamese Embassy in Australia and the Trade Office have organized programs to promote the fruit at the Australia International Food Fair from 12 -15 September. A memorandum of understanding on supporting sales of Vietnamese agricultural products, including fresh fruits, was signed between the Vietnamese Trade Office and the Vietnam Business Association in Australia.
