(VOVworld) – The Association of Kieu Studies convened its 2nd Congress on Friday attended by 250 members. Established in 2011, the Association of Kieu Studies has promoted the value of the Tale of Kieu by 18th century poet Nguyen Du, a UNESCO-recognized world cultural figure.

The Association organized several seminars on the influence of the Tale of Kieu on Vietnam’s new poetic movement and celebrated the 250th anniversary of Nguyen Du’s death.

VOV President and President of the Literature and Arts Theory and Criticism Council, Nguyen The Ky said: “The Council will promote studies on the Tale of Kieu and poet Nguyen Du. We celebrated the 250th anniversary of Nguyen Du’s death to popularize the eternal values of the Tale of Kieu inside and outside Vietnam. By doing so, we hope the younger generation will be more responsible for their national heritage.”
Professor Phong Le was re-elected President of the Association of Kieu Studies.
