As set out during the two-day event, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Paris Agreement on Climate Change concern  global frameworks to help handle core developmental issues and create new impetus for economic restructuring,  shifting the growth model to green economy and low emissions, thus improving the state of the people, community, and nations.

At the close of the  session, participants agreed on boosting ASEM's contribution to the global effort to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, the linking of ASEM initiatives, as well as projects and cooperation groups on women's empowerment, poverty reduction, education, and human resource development, and raising awareness and action to ensure sustainable, creative and inclusive development.

Vietnam's senior official said the conference’s results contributed to realizing the vision of ASEM leaders on promoting inclusive economic and social development, toward realizing the goal of poverty reduction and building a comprehensive and sustainable future for all people. Specific policy and action recommendations adopted at the conference will contribute to new  directions for ASEM on inclusive development.

After two working days, the conference approved a report to submit to the 14th ASEM Foreign Ministerial Meeting in Spain in December and the 13th ASEM Summit in Cambodia next year.
