(VOVworld) – An ASEAN music festival will take place in Hanoi on Saturday. The festival with the theme “Artwork is work” is aiming to show off the musical character of other countries in the region and to raise public awareness of intellectual property rights as well as acknowledge the creativity of Asian youths. The event will express respect for Asian actors by highlighting the importance of intellectual property rights and implementation of the rights in regional countries. Michel Tusner is Cultural Attache of the US embassy in Vietnam: “This is a great partnership between many bands in Southeast Asia, bands from Vietnam, Thailand, the Phillipines, Burma, and we’re all coming together to throw a great music festival and celebrate the vibrant culture that is in Southeast Asia and also to help protect intellectual property rights. How it’s organized is we partnered with a group called Karma in Vietnam, who does great work with promoting concerts. So we work with a local partner here in Vietnam who’s helped identify great talents in Vietnam and in the region, to help throw a great music festival and to help celebrate the protection of intellectual property rights.”
