ASEAN 2020: For cohesive and responsive ASEAN air forces

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense hosted the 17th ASEAN Air Force Chiefs Conference (AACC) in the virtual form on Thursday with the theme “For cohesive and responsive ASEAN air forces”, gathering air force chiefs of the ASEAN countries.

Addressing the meeting, Major General Vu Van Kha, Acting Commander of the Air Defense-Air Force Service, praised the air force chiefs’ support for Vietnam as the host and the ASEAN air forces’ unity and solidarity. Delegates discussed issues of common concern with the aim of strengthening ASEAN air force relations and cooperation, building confidence, and promoting mutual understanding. They proposed measures to boost ASEAN air force relations, humanitarian aid and disaster relief in order to complete a set of regulations on humanitarian aid and disaster relief for the air forces of the ASEAN countries.
