According to the San Antonio fire department, no children were among the dead.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the deaths. 16 survivors – 12 adults and 4 children – were rushed to a local hospital.

Authorities did not find any water in the trailer. It’s likely the people locked in the trailer suffered extreme dehydration and heat stroke.

Current temperatures in San Antonio are close to 40 degrees Celsius with very high humidity.
