(VOVWORLD) - About 3,000 pupils, students, and people joined a walking program to raise fund for disadvantaged students to go to school.

At the event organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union in Truong Sa street, Ho Chi Minh city, on Sunday, the organizing board received half a million USD and thousands of notebooks.

30 scholarships, each worth 170 USD, were given to poor pupils with good academic results. After 12 years, the program has strong influence in society and encourages poor students to pursue their study.
