In an interview with Vietnam News Agency, General Lich said the Offensive which culminated in the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign was a fiercest war of nerve and of forces between Vietnam and its enemy during the anti-US national resistance war and finally Vietnam won. The victory liberated southern people from the oppression of imperialists and their supporters and ended 21 years of the national resistance against the US and 30 years of national liberation, putting an end to world powers’ direct military interference into Vietnam throughout a century. The 1975 Spring Offensive contributed to reversing the US imperialists’ global strategy and encouraging national liberation and progressive democracy movements all over the world.
