(VOVworld) – A ceremony to honor 160 outstanding teachers from across the country was held in Hanoi on Saturday. Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan congratulated them on Vietnam’s Teachers’ Day November 20th and said that teachers are the decisive factor in the restructuring of the education sector. He said: “The education sector has been the source of human resource development, which is greatly thanks to the contributions of teachers. We hope that there will be more emulation movements and role models to help advance the education sector.”
Representing more than 1.2 million teachers nationwide, these 160 teachers were honored for their excellent performance and their achievements in patriotic emulation movements. Teacher Vang Thi Ghenh from Simacai district in Lao Cai province said: “I’m proud to represent Lao Cai province to be here today. This honor encourages me a lot in my work.”
The same day, the organizing board posthumously presented the Ho Chi Minh Order to late Professor Ta Quang Buu.
