The Authority said that before the reopening of regular international routes, the number international passengers to/from Vietnam averaged 40,000 or 50,000 per month.

Following the removal of restrictions on international regular and irregular flights, the CAAV expects number of international passengers to/from Vietnam to  increase sharply in the near future and return to pre-COVID-19 pandemic level.

On Tuesday, or the first day of the reopening of regular international flights, Noi Bai airport in Ha Noi saw 80 international flights, including 23 passenger flights. Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City served 94 international flights on the day.
