The event will be held on September 4 by the Vietnamese People Association in the Republic of Korea, under the sponsorship of the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK. The aim is to create a space for the Vietnamese community living, working and studying in Korea.
It includes a series of activities such as a Vietnamese-South Korean talent contest, a writing contest on the Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties, and a painting competition for children of Vietnamese-South Korean families with the theme “Vietnam in My Heart 2022", as well as an art performance programme by Vietnamese artists.
An awards ceremony will also be held to honour individuals and organisations that have contributed to the development of the Vietnamese community in South Korea.
Visitors to the festival will have a chance to sample some traditional Vietnamese delicacies at 20 booths during the event.
Spaces showcasing local culture from the past decades will be re-enacted. In addition, tourists will have the opportunity to try on ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) and Hanbok (Korean traditional costume), and write calligraphic works on paper or non la (Vietnamese palm-leaf conical hat).
The festival was first held in 2010 to promote the image of Vietnam in the RoK, as well as its special culture and tourism.
