VOV hosts awards ceremony for writing contest on Vietnam-Indonesia relations

(VOVWORLD) - Winners of a writing contest on the exchange of visits between President Ho Chi Minh and his Indonesian counterpart Sukarno were announced at a ceremony in Hanoi on December 23.

The ceremony was attended by the Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam and representatives of other foreign embassies and agencies.

The organizers received hundreds of entries from all age groups.

Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi said he admires the enthusiasm and creativity of the contestants.

VOV President Nguyen The Ky said VOV reporters traveled to Indonesia for exchanges and to report on the anniversary.

President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Phuong Nga and former Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Nguyen Dang Quang presented third prizes to Phan Khuong of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Truyen Thong of Bac Giang province, and Le Thi Thu Thanh of Quang Tri province.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong and VOV Vice President Tran Minh Hung presented the second prize to contestant Dinh Dang Minh of Phu Tho province.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung and Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi awarded the first prize to Phi Ba Khoat of Hanoi.

VOV President Nguyen The Ky and Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi presented the Grand Prize to Tu Thanh Phong of Da Nang.

Tu Thanh Phong, winner the Grand Prize, said his entry expressed his love for President Ho Chi Minh, President Sukarno, and Indonesia.

VOV and Indonesian artists entertained audiences with special art performances.

An exhibition describing the historic visits was on display at VOV’s theatre from December 23-27.

VOV’s Bureau in Indonesia and the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia co-hosted the awards ceremony for Indonesian contestants.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Pham Vinh Quang presented the first prize to Rudy Hartono of Kalimantan.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Pham Vinh Quang presented the second prize to Herbert Sunu of Jakarta.

The contest marked historical events that laid a foundation for bilateral ties between Vietnam and Indonesia.
