Vietnam Fine Arts Museum launches multi-media guide app iMuseum VFA

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum embraces a particular significance in preserving and promoting the arts of the Vietnamese people. 20,000 items being stored at the museum offer a panoramic view of the evolution and characteristics of the Vietnamese art scene from the ancient time up until now. The Museum has nine national treasures. The Museum has launched the app iMuseum VFA, making virtual tours possible. 

Map shows the location of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi iMuseum VFA displays audio guide, texts, and high-definition photos. It is available on Android and iOS, using QR code scanning and iBeacon tracking technologies. More than an automated audio guide, iMuseum VFA also offers HD photos of certain exhibit, tracks its location, displays full map of the exhibition, and uses color to notice what you have and haven’t visited. Tran Thi Huong, Vice Director of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum said, “Visitors can use this app to tour the museum either online or offline. The app is really handy. Move your phone close to the QR code or enter the exhibit’s ID number to interact with is. That would be lots of fun.”

The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi. iMuseum VFA is the collab of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and the Vietnam Mobile Application Software Joint Stock Company. It was born out of the Museum’s desire to enrich the experience of tourists to the Museum and utilize technology development in cultural preservation.

The app is a step further in the national digital transformation program until 2025 with a vision to 2030 approved by the Government. Cai Thai Hoang Uyen – Director of the iMuseum VFA project said, “We want to launch similar app with other museums so that Vietnam’s cultural and historical values can reach a wider audience, inside and outside Vietnam.”

With a smart device connected to the Internet, it costs a user 50,000 VND (2.2 USD) a time to liberally explore 100 art works at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum at any time and place of your convenience. Each tour on the iMuseum VFA app can last as long as eight hours. Eight languages are available currently: Vietnamese, English, French, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Italian. Germany will be added soon.

After two years of making, the app iMuseum VFA began its pilot in December, 2020, to collect ideas for improvement from visitors and experts. The official product made its debut on April 22, 2021

I can use it any time and ianywhere, at the comfort of my home, for instance. This app accepts payment via e-wallet.”
