The delegation boards three ships carrying dozens of tonnes of Tet gifts sent by various military units and people nationwide to soldiers and residents living on the archipelago. Soldiers of Brigade 955 bring a variety of gifts and necessities aboard. The Tet gifts have been carefully packed and thoroughly disinfected to ensure absolute safety. The gifts include an array of traditional Tet foods and fruits such as sticky rice, pork, chicken, dong leaves (used for wrapping traditional Chung cakes), green bananas, pomelos, kumquat trees, and flowers. Kumquat trees, a traditional symbol of Tet, are transported to Truong Sa. The annual trip conveys the profound attention paid by the Party, State, and people nationwide to the soldiers and residents on the Truong Sa archipelago.
