The photo contest ran from July to mid-October, receiving 9,069 entries from 705 amateur and professional photographers from 38 countries and territories around the world. An image by Dutch photographer Marcel Van Balken wins the Image Sans Frontiere (ISF) Gold Medal in the daily life category. The contest is carried out by the Ho Chi Minh City Photographic Association (HOPA), under the patronage of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP). An artwork produced by Woodpecker Huang of Chinese Taipei secures the FIAP Gold Medal in the open colour category. The awards receive the recognition of the Photographic Society of America (PSA), the Image Sans Frontiere (ISF) label, and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA). A PSA Gold Medal is given to a photo by local author Bach Thi To Anh. The FIAP Gold Medal award goes to Priyo Widiyanto from Indonesia in the open monochrome category. An image by Vietnamese photographer Dinh Tat Canh wins the PSA Gold Medal in the open monochrome category. The VAPA Gold Medal in the open monochrome category is granted to an artwork by Ha Thanh Nga. Le Minh Quoc wins the PSA Gold Medal in the daily life category. The ISF Gold Medal in the travel category is given to local photographer Nguyen Van Phung. An image produced by Wei Chang Kuo of Chinese Taipei is awarded the PSA Gold Medal in the travel category.
