(VOVWORLD) - Thousands of expats residing in Ho Chi Minh City have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic in recent weeks, thereby helping to protect themselves and the wider community.

A volunteer in ward 1 of Tan Binh district instructs foreigners to fill in their healthcare declaration forms before getting vaccinated against COVID-19.

All foreigners closely follow the Ministry of Health’s 5K disease prevention message whilst at the inoculation site.

Approximately 18,000 foreigners from 106 countries and territories globally who are currently residing in District 7 will have the chance to receive an injection to protect themselves from the virus. So far, 50% of them have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

The move is part of HCM City's plan to vaccinate 70% of people aged 18 and above by the end of August.

Foreigners are required to wear face masks and use hand sanitizer before entering the inoculation site.

All arrivals have their body temperature checked.

Healthcare declarations are also required at the inoculation site.

Foreigners are thoroughly checked and given consultation before receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

The authorities of all districts and Thu Duc city arrange different schedules for injection in order to limit gatherings and prevent the potential spread of the pandemic.

Each foreigner is given a consultation in order to monitor their health after injection.
