After three and a half days, construction of the field hospital was completed. The project finished two and a half days ahead of schedule as 500 people worked around the clock with support of hundreds of personnel who bought and transported materials, installed equipment, prepared meals for workers, and cleaned the site.

| This is Vietnam’s first field hospital completed with the installation designed by the Consulting Center of Da Nang’s Construction Department. The treatment units/beds, wastewater treatment, and lighting systems, were installed in accordance with the Ministries of Health and Construction standards. |

| Constructed with light materials, the field hospital was designed to ensure safety standards set by the Ministry of Health: safe distances for quarantine zones, natural ventilating systems, proper arrangements of warning signs to avoid transmission and to guide to treatment unit. |

| Every treatment unit is well-equipped with beds, cupboards, electric fans, hangers, lights, plugs and sockets, and an emergency call button to connect to the hospital’s headquarters. |

| Cameras are installed in all the treatment units and fire protection systems are readily available. The treatment units are also connected to free wifi. |

| The field hospital will be used depending on the disease situation in the locality. It will receive and treat patients if there are outbreaks of COVID-19. |

| If the number of COVID-19 patients remains under control and other hospitals are still able to treat them, the field hospital will be a location for 14-day quarantine for people that have had close contact with verified cases. |
According to the design, patients with light symptoms will be located on the 2nd and the 3rd floors with around 200 beds on each floor. The 4th floor will be reserved for doctors, nurses, and staff.
Earlier, Da Nang’s Health Department appointed its Deputy Director Tran Thanh Thuy to be Operating Director of the field hospital. Another Deputy Director in charge of professional medical care at the hospital will be appointed soon.

We hope this field hospital will help contain the epidemic," said Mr Duong The Bang, Director of the Sun Group in the Central Region, about the decision to sponsor the field hospital at Tien Son Sports Center in Da Nang.
