(VOVWORLD) - Rang Dong Company, which produces lamps and vacuum flasks, has invested a lot in research and development to realize its goal of building a Made in Vietnam trademark. Its LED 4.0 lighting ecosystem is an important component in Rang Dong’s G-S-HCL Lighting Solution project which was rated 5 stars in the category of “Solutions for smart buildings/apartments” and given the Vietnam Smart City Award.

The LED 4.0 lighting ecosystem is a technology that integrates physics, biotechnology, and information technology. The operating mechanism of Rang Dong’s LED lighting ecosystem is based on a built-in sensor to activate appropriate lighting modes or activate the bulbs or bulb clusters in areas according to default modes. Its advantages are high automation and energy-efficiency.

Nguyen Hoang Kien, Manager of LED and Electronics workshop of Rang Dong company, said: “A 100W light bulb produces about 1,200 lumen units. But a compact light bulb of 20W can produce 1,200 lumen units. Meanwhile a LED light bulb of 8-9W can produce equivalent lumen units, which means much more energy efficient. When we install a sensor in a LED light bulb, it helps save extra 30 to 40% of energy.”

The LED 4.0 lighting ecosystem has 5 main groups of products – electronic equipment (Central controller, APP control, touch switches, remote control, lighting system, and sensors…); green-smart human centric lighting systems and solutions; lighting systems and solutions for high-tech agriculture; high-quality LED products that produce light similar to natural light for export to developed countries; and normal LED light bulbs to replace traditional lighting products.

The 5 groups of products have been integrated in Rang Dong Company’s IoT Platform (RAL IoT Platform) and applied to lighting for different purposes.

Nguyen Doan Ket, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Director of Rang Dong Company affirmed that the LED 4.0 lighting marks the company’s transition to the 4th stage of lighting technology. Not only providing light products like incandescent, fluorescent, and LED light bulbs, the Green-Smart Human Centric Lighting (G-S-HCL smart lighting solution) is expected to change the lighting industry in the future. The solutions are designed to apply to indoor and outdoor lighting works and diverse fields such as high-tech agriculture, healthcare, and transportation.

Rang Dong’s Director Nguyen Doan Ket said: “These products integrate many new technologies such as sensor, microprocessor, and Internet of Things. These are strategic and core products of the company. We have been applying the smart lighting technology to smart homes and apartments. It is also the foundation for smart-street and smart-city lighting. The lighting system is the largest network in a city. On that network we can integrate sensors for weather, security, and traffic which are the basic elements of a smart city.”

Following the success of LED 4.0 lighting solution and implementing high-tech product development toward Made in Vietnam aspirations, Rang Dong Company held a series of events to introduce its 4.0 product ecosystem on April 27 and 28. Rang Dong Company debuted the 2nd Generation Smart Home; Smart City Solution for smart street lighting and landscape architecture; Smart Farm Solution for high-tech agriculture, precision agriculture, and renewable energy.

Rang Dong 4.0 product ecosystem introduced Made in Vietnam brands, which are researched, invented, designed, and produced by Rang Dong.

The ecosystem takes the core technology of Lighting and Internet of Things (IoT) with 4 attributes: artificial intelligence, personalization, platformization and creation of data services, and co-creating to jointly add value for customers and partners in an open business environment.

Assessing the success of Rang Dong Company with a series of advanced products and technology solutions toward the Made in Vietnam orientation, Dr. Nguyen Van Minh, Director of the Institute of International Economics and Trade of the Foreign Trade University, said: “The biggest success of Rang Dong Company is that the leaders are active and far-sighted who have made long term preparations. They have prepared for changes when they were at the peak. They have simultaneously operated a hybrid business model that is strengthening the traditional business model and renewing it with digital tools, while implementing a new model."

Rang Dong Company targets to earn revenue of 17,000 billion VND in 2025 and become a billion-USD-company by 2030. Nguyen Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Automation Association, said that it’s a challenging goal, but can be done with Rang Dong's spirit of science, innovation, and determination to pursue the Made in Vietnam aspiration.
