The program has collected information on examination sites and examinee requests for transportation, accommodation, and other essentials. Volunteer groups will be assigned to bus and train stations, schools, and specific areas to help orient examinees.

Hanoi saw 80,000 pupils attending the high school examination on June 9. The City’s Youth Union had prepared 12,000 volunteers to participate in the examination support program. Chu Hong Minh, Vice Secretary of the HCM Communist Youth Union of Hanoi said: “We have mobilized social resources for the Examination Support Program. The resources worth 43,000 USD include 42,000 hand-held fans, 50,000 bottles of water, 2,000 t-shirts and caps, and other necessary items to give free to examinees. Everything is in place to serve the national high school examination.”

HCMC have 20,000 volunteers get involved in the support program for high school graduation and tertiary examinations and enrollments. From now to July 8,000 volunteers will be deployed to 100 examination sites across the city. In August more than 12,000 volunteers will help students sit for their exams or enroll in universities and colleges.

Pham Truong Sinh, Deputy Head of HCMC’s Examination Support Program, said: “We’ll give special support to disadvantaged students. We’ll also give scholarships to poor students with good examination results to pursue higher education.”

The Examination Support Program has been carried out in all 63 cities and provinces across Vietnam.
