The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all aspects of socio-economic life. Thanks to the government’s shift in COVID-19 response strategy to safely and flexibly adapting to and effectively containing the pandemic, the economy is recovering and so is the labor market.

In 2022, some sectors are forecast to have high recruitment demand thanks to economic recovery. According to employment services, in the first quarter of this year businesses will need more workers in IT, programming, data analysis, AI, big data, and the Internet of Things. Vu Quang Thanh, Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center, said: "There will be a lot of opportunities for workers in data analysis in 2022. Other jobs in international trade, such as logistics, import-export, international relations, and customer care will also be in high demand. Recruitment for workers in e-commerce, trade, and services will rise."

Thanks to effective control of the pandemic and rapid economic recovery, the labor market in tourism and services is reviving after 2 years of closures due to the pandemic.

Mr. Thanh says: "Tourism and the hospitality sector in general are recovering. We really hope that, with the shift in our pandemic response strategy, reviving socio-economic development, globalization trends, and free trade agreements between Vietnam and other countries, tourism-related businesses will rebound strongly."

Job opportunities in the garment, textile, electronics, manufacturing, and processing sectors are forecast to grow in the near future.
