Bac Lieu provincial authorities have issued a dispatch asking for tighter management of quarantine sites and home quarantine of F1 cases and anyone arriving from a pandemic-hit area. The pilot home quarantine scheme, the first in the Mekong Delta, will be implemented with children under five, people over 70 and chronically sick people who need caregivers. The home quarantine period will last 21 days plus 7 days of further monitoring.

Kien Giang authorities have issued instructions for the quarantine of F1 cases and for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. The province will impose a 14-day quarantine at concentrated sites and a 14-day monitoring at home for those who have had close contact with a COVID-19 patient. These people will receive at least two COVID-19 test on the first and 14th day of the quarantine period.

Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap provincial People’s Committee Doan Tan Buu said the province has proposed home quarantine for F1 cases promising to enforce disease prevention regulations and tighten management.

'We need to be very cautious in implementing home quarantine. We need to ensure safety, prevent transmission, rally public support, and tighten management of these cases. If successful, we will expand home quarantine. We ask people in lockdown areas not to go out if not necessary. We’ll provide them with essential goods.' says Buu.

Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son has agreed to Dong Thap’s home quarantine proposal and asked the province to enforce all necessary conditions, and learn from the experience of other localities.
