According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the market has remained stable with no unusual fluctuations. Food and foodstuff supplies are abundant, and prices are relatively steady. To prepare for this year’s Tet holiday, businesses began stockpiling early, increasing inventory levels 10-25% compared to the previous year.
Localities have organized mobile price stabilization points, stocking up on diverse products, and promoting programs to bring goods to rural areas.
Nguyen Kieu Oanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, said: "We have worked closely with distributors to assess the needs and ensure the supply of goods for Tet. This year, we are confident in fulfilling our tasks."
Retail systems and supermarkets across the country are working hard to reduce prices. Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op, said: "Our mission is to stabilize prices year-round. During the Lunar New Year, we invest heavily in promotion programs, working closely with manufacturers and farmers to ensure Saigon Co.op’s goods remain stable and, in many cases, cheaper than usual, offering people a warm and joyful Tet celebration."
Economists predict a slight increase in consumer purchasing power during the 2025 Lunar New Year compared to the previous year. Essential goods and health-oriented products are expected to be in high demand. Practical and affordable items, such as gift baskets featuring agricultural products, vegetables, or fruits from trusted brands, are gaining popularity due to their novelty and reasonable pricing.
With these comprehensive preparations and measures, Vietnam’s market is set to deliver a vibrant and satisfying shopping experience, ensuring a festive and prosperous Lunar New Year for all.
