Former President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Pham The Duyet said the Party Central Committee attained a high degree of consensus in choosing candidates for these leadership positions.
Duyet said it’s important to build a united, pure, and strong leadership with a close bond with the people. Duyet says, 'People are very hopeful for leaders of the Party, State, and National Assembly who understand the people. Cadres with strong competence and prestige which is reflected in their morality, political dignity, and lifestyle will be selected to be the Prime Minister, National Assembly Chairperson and President. This is very important work. We need to think about the immediate and long-term future, this tenure and the following tenures.'
After the 13th National Party Congress, the 2nd plenum of the new Party Central Committee convened to finalize the leadership of the country by nominating key individuals for the 14th National Assembly to consider, elect, or approve in line with the Constitution and the law.
Party member Nguyen Manh Thang of Hanoi said, 'This is a scientific, democratic and thorough step in personnel affairs. Because, after the 11th session, the National Assembly will hold an election in May and in July, we will re-elect leadership of the National Assembly and government. During these four months of transition, new government members elected at the 11th session of the National Assembly need to exert their efforts to be re-elected at the July session. Their performance during these four months will decide the deputies’ vote.'
Party members and the public hope that a new well-educated leadership with professional leadership skills, high intelligence, and foreign language and IT proficiency will meet the needs of the country in the new period. They believe that the new leadership will have the devotion and aspiration needed to move the country forward to honor the 100th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and 100th founding anniversary of Vietnam with great strategies and ambitions put forward at the 13th National Party Congress.
Nguyen Quoc Bao, a resident in Nghia Tan ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi, said, 'The 2nd plenum of the Party Central Committee selected candidates who meet the Party’s and the people’s expectations. We hope they will continue their dedication and contributions in fulfilling their new tasks. It’s important that they work for the people and for the country.
Hoang Ngoc Khoi, another resident in Nghia Tan ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi, said, 'I have strong confidence in the Party Central Committee - a leadership with strong competence and morality to lead the country. The Party Politburo and the Party Secretariat are made up outstanding people who will lift our country to a new height. As the Party General Secretary said our country has never before had such strength and potential for development.'
People expect that the new leadership of the Party, State and National Assembly will be outstanding in political stance, morality, and competence to lead the country forward.
