Foreigners thank Vietnamese medical staff

(VOVWORLD) - Foreign patients contracting Covid-19 have been cured in Vietnam. They have expressed their gratitude to Vietnamese doctors and nurses for saving their lives.

People who have completed a 14-day quarantine at a central quarantine site or been treated at a hospital, have posted messages on social networks expressing their deep gratitude to Vietnamese medical staff.

The government of Vietnam has directed ministries and sectors to ensure the safety of foreigners and offer them intensive health care if necessary. British Ambassador to Vietnam Gareth Ward, said: “I’d like to thank all of the doctors and nurses and all of the Government officials in Vietnam who helped us to support British visitors during this time. Many British tourists want to express their gratitude to Vietnam. We will continue to work closely with the Vietnamese Government and help it to do its best to combat COVID-19 and aid those in need during these exceptional times.”

US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink posted a video on the US Consulate’s Facebook page to thank the Vietnamese people on the frontline of the fight against the pandemic. He commended the government of Vietnam for doing an outstanding job in its response to Covid-19 and continuing to be proactive, cooperative, and transparent.

The WHO office in Vietnam delivered a message praising the silent heroes in the fight against Covid-19 and acknowledging Vietnam’s extraordinary efforts, particularly the Vietnamese doctors who have worked day and night to safeguard people against the new global health threat.
