Environmental auditing for sustainable development was chosen as the theme of the 14th ASOSAI Assembly by the State Audit of Vietnam. It was fully supported by 46 members of the Asian Associations of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) in the context of increasing adverse environmental impacts on people’s daily life and economic development of countries worldwide.
A symposium themed “Environmental Audit for Sustainable Development” will be held as part of the 14th ASOSAI Assembly, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to global efforts to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and solve environmental challenges. ASOSAI members are expected to share experiences and solutions in addressing environmental issues for sustainable development. A Hanoi declaration to be announced by the end of the summit will include a part on the topic with ideas, solutions, and commitments of members, including the State Bank of Vietnam, to realize the global sustainable development goals and enhance measures on dealing with environmental pollution.
During the event, a number of important documents are expected to be issued, including effective policies, solutions and tools to deal with various issues, to help ensure sustainable development at member countries.
