Hanoi’s Department of Tourism reports that the capital welcomed 208,000 tourists, earning over 31 million USD during the three-day New Year holiday. 170,000 were Vietnamese and 38,000 were foreigners. The most crowded places were the Hanoi Zoo, Vietnam’s Military History Museum, Duong Lam ancient village, and resorts.
Director of Hanoi’s Department of Tourism Đặng Hương Giang said that a number of events were held on the New Year holiday at tourist sites and public places such as "Welcome New Year 2023" at the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, a night tour at Thang Long royal palace, and a literature tour at the Vietnam Museum of Literature. Tourist companies offer day tours to flower and ornamental plant villages, bicycle tours, and mountain camping and trekking on the outskirts of Hanoi.

Nguyen Trung Khanh, General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said: “International tourism is recovering and reconnecting. Domestic tourism is a lifesaver for Vietnam’s tourism, which has rebounded strongly since Vietnam reopened after the pandemic.”
Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of Khanh Hoa provincial Tourism Department, said that during the 3-day New Year holiday, Khanh Hoa welcomed over 355,000 visitors, including 98,200 stay-over visitors, and earned more than 14 million USD. The most popular tourist sites were Nha Trang Bay, VinWonders Nha Trang, Monkey Island and Hoa Lan Stream Spring, Ponagar Tower, and Hon Chong islet.
Da Nang airport welcomed 395 flights, including 236 domestic flights carrying 37,000 passengers. The city served a total of 58,000 guests on the first 3 days of the New Year.
