Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum |
The Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum opened in 2014 with nearly 1,000 documents, objects and photos, providing an overview of the Vietnamese people’s struggle against the French colonialists and the 56-day Dien Bien Phu campaign in 1954. Vu Thi Tuyet Nga is the Museum’s Deputy Director: “All the sites at the Dien Bien Phu national relic have been upgraded to attract visitors, who come here not just to learn history but also to enjoy the beautiful landscapes. In the near future, we will introduce more activities at the complex and train new staff. We hope to receive more visitors, especially on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory next year.”
Dien Bien province hopes to attract more investment from foreign and domestic investors to continue preserving and promoting the Dien Bien Phu Victory Relic Site. Mua A Son is Chairman of the Dien Bien provincial People’s Committee: “The relic sites here are managed by the state. So the central and provincial authorities need to work together to draw more resources to upgrade the relics.”
