Vietnam Consumer Rights Day will be held from March to May. Businesses will offer free warranty and repair of products, allow customers to return goods within a certain period of time, and offer a variety of promotional and discount programs. Businesses will publicize contact points and customer service numbers to promptly handle consumer complaints.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has expanded its customer service hotline (1800.6838) to 52 switchoards nationwide and will collect information for a national database on consumer rights protection.

Nguyen Quynh Nga, Deputy Director of the Department of Competition and Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said: “Directive 30 was issued in 2019 by the Party Secretariat on protecting consumer interests and the Government’s Resolution 82 was issued in 2020 on strengthening Party leadership and State management to protect consumer interests. The revised Law on Consumer Protection is expected to be ratified by the National Assembly in May. These documents have mobilized State agencies, Associations, and businesses to put consumer interests at the center of their activities.”

To protect the interests of consumers, state agencies have strengthened market management, handling the complaints and requests of consumers, and strictly dealing with infringements of the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
