At shopping malls, traditional markets and supermarkets like Vinmart, Bach Hoa Xanh (Green Department Store), Co.opmart, and BRG Mart, all kinds of Tet goods are on display. Tet essentials like beverages, cookies, and dried fruits are prominently displayed to make it easier for customers to find them. The prices of these goods are controlled.

AEON Vietnam says Tet demand is expected to increase 15% this year and many promotions are in place. The company has increased inventories of beef, pork, poultry, vegetables, fruits, rice, cookies, beverages, and dried foods. Local specialties like square sticky rice cakes, round sticky rice cakes, durian cakes are being promoted.

Pham Thi Ngoc Lan, Deputy Director of Co.op Food, Southern branch, says the company has reserved goods and worked with suppliers to ensure stable prices and sufficient supplies.

"Many consumers are practicing austerity because of the prolonged pandemic. Retailers like us are designing combo packages to attract customers. We’re trying to ensure goods supply at the best prices for customers," said Lan.

Nguyen Thai Dung, Director General of BRG Retailer says that to stimulate year end demand, businesses need attractive promotions and discounts.

"Due to the pandemic, purchasing power has decreased. We have focused on essential goods and reduced luxury items and tried to keep prices stable. We worked with producers and suppliers in September and October to ensure we will have the quantity of goods we need. This has helped producers make their production plans and stabilized prices," said Dung.
