Major shopping centers in Hanoi like Vincom Center, Trang Tien Plaza, and Savico Megamall and fashion streets like in the Old Quarter are crowded with customers.
Hoang Thu Phuong, a shopper at Vincom Center on Ba Trieu street, said: "I like clothing best. There are not many products with 70-80% discounts this year. I search on the shops’ websites first to see what promotional programs they have and then come to the shops where I can have more choices."
On Friday morning, many young shoppers queued at the Boo shop, a popular brand name for teenagers, to buy products at half prices. The discount is only for today.
" Usually, the shop only discounts 10-20% but today they offer 50% discount. I bought 2 shirts at half prices - 30 USD. I like the products a lot because they are beautiful, high-quality products," said a shopper.
"Rarely does the shop discount their products by half. I like the products I bought. They’re beautiful, good, and cheap," said a shopper.
Clothing, cosmetics, watches, home appliances, and electronics in major shopping streets in Ho Chi Minh City are discounted from 10 to 70%. Shopping websites also offer big sales of up to 50% and free shipping.
Nguyen Thi Uyen said: "I have already shopped online before Black Friday and sometimes the quality of the products was not like what they said. On Black Friday, they offer big discounts but I still visit their shops in order to examine the quality of the products. "
Though it originated in the west, Black Friday was quickly adopted by Vietnamese sellers and buyers.
