A season of films is being screened from January 18 to February 5 nationwide to celebrate the 12th National Party Congress and the 86th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien said: “The film screenings bring the public and movie lovers a closer view of Vietnam’s construction and development. Artists and producers of the film “On the summit of peace” will meet with students and soldiers in Binh Thuan province”.

At the opening ceremony, the Cinematography Department screened the documentary film titled “Reformed country” by the Central Science and Documentary Film Studio and the feature film “On the summit of peace” by the Feature Film Joint Stock Company 1. Within 30 minutes, the film “Reformed country” reviewed Vietnam’s remarkable achievements during the renewal and integration process. It highlights the importance of the Communist Party in leading Vietnam to overcome numerous difficulties. The film “On the summit of peace” reflects the lives of the Cham ethnic minority people in a ceramic village in south central Vietnam and its local development. Doctor of Arts Study Hoang Son was former Deputy Director of the Vietnam Arts and Literature Institute: “The film embraces profound and educational implications and reflects the significance of national unity. In the film, we learn more about the Party’s care for ethnicities, especially ethnic minority people. Under the Party leadership, Vietnam has made significant economic changes, and developed multiple economic sectors”.

Other films to be screened include such documentaries and history films as “Prophet”, “Thau Chin in Xiem”, “Forest Path”, “Village’s children”, “Look to the sea”, “Liberated Saigon”, “Legend writers”, “Living with history”, “Hanoi Winter 1946”, “Burning grass”, “Don’t burn”, “Dong Loc T-junction”, and “To the south and north”. The film “Thau Chin in Xiem” was produced in Thailand. It featured President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary activities from July 1928 to November 1929 in northeast Thailand. The film was applauded by Vietnamese audiences at home and abroad. Nguyen Thu Trang is a spectator: “I have seen some of the films screened to mark the occasion of the 12th National Party Congress. The films which feature national construction and development convey meaningful messages. I like the films “Hanoi Winter 1946”, “Dong Loc T-junction”, and “Thau Chin in Xiem” the best. They embrace historical values and are deeply emotional”.

The films highlight the important roles of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, and the heroic sacrifices of the Vietnamese people in the national liberation struggles. They help to consolidate the people’s trust in the Party and reinforce the national great unity bloc.
