Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh addresses the meeting in Quang Tri province.

They also discussed ways in which to better exploit the East-West Economic Corridor, which runs 1,450km through Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. In Vietnam, the project starts at Lao Bao International Border Gate in Quang Tri province, running along Highway 9 and 1A to Da Nang city.

Mr. Binh addressed the meeting: “We should make East-West Economic Corridor benefit Quang Tri’s socio-economic development. The province, together with the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission and relevant ministries, will take the matter into further consideration.”

Connectivity among four neighboring countries will create favorable conditions for localities to promote tourism, industry, and agriculture. Quang Tri province has 4 neighboring key zones along the East-West Economic Corridor including the Lao Bao special trade and economic zone, Dong Ha, the Northeast economic zone, and the Cua Viet-Cua Tung-Con Co tourism and service triangle.
