The photo exhibition opens in Hue on April 12, 2019.

The photos were picked from a photo contest held by the Central Commission for Publicity and Education, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Association for Photography Artists. The organizing board hopes that the exhibition will help better educate the younger Vietnamese people on their national maritime sovereignty while instilling in them a sense of  patriotism, national pride and  responsibility to protect the sea and the islands. The photos  vividly depict the beauty of nature and the people in the Vietnamese seas and islands through candid moments from daily life,  illustrating the customs and culture of the Vietnamese people in the coastal and  island regions. Many photos  compellingly tell the story of the life of Vietnamese navy soldiers who are always ready to protect the sovereignty of the Vietnamese sea and its islands.
